Socio-Economic Impact Study of FedNor Broadband and ICT Investments in Timmins and Cochrane District, Ontario

Project: Conducted economic impact study of FedNor broadband and ICT investments in Timmins, Ontario, from $2 million CDN in FedNor in project funding to tele-radiology, remote-learning and telephone switching system upgrade.
Conducted: January – April 2004
Results: Our study revealed that there was a $28.64 million increase in GDP for Cochrane District (i.e. Timmins region) and $9.75 million increase for the Province of Ontario; 928 person years of employment for Cochrane District and 125.6 for the rest of Ontario; $3.21 million increase in provincial tax revenues and $5 million increase in federal tax revenues.Client: Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor), Toronto, Canada.
