Digital economy benchmarking of Australia
Client: Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Government of Australia.
Project: Identified the evidence base on sectoral performance of the digital economy in Australia and international benchmarking sources, including OECD, European Union and Asian economies.
Conducted: July – December 2008
Results: Identified key data gaps, undertook benchmarking of five Australian sectors against international benchmarks, and designed a survey tool for deployment in Australia for measuring digital
economy participation, usage and impacts. Developed a path forward to measure the growth over time in the productive engagement of Australian business with the digital economy and presented this to senior departmental management.
