Economic analyst

About the job:

Strategic Networks Group, Inc. (SNG) is a world leader in the econometric analysis of telecom broadband network deployments. SNG helps communities and regions leverage the benefits of connectivity and e-business solutions for economic and social development. Since 1998, we have been focusing our attention on the measurement of the economic impacts of from the deployments of broadband (high-speed Internet) networks in Canada, the United-States and Australia. Our consulting services are designed to accelerate both the deployment of critical broadband infrastructure and its use by local businesses and industry.

As Strategic Networks Group extends our services, we are looking for experienced researchers and analysts who have a strong understanding of econometric analysis and the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in direct collaboration with SNG’s consultants for conducting various (and challenging) econometric analyses based on SNG’s micro and macro economic data gathered through SNG surveys
  • Develop and deliver creative analytical methodologies and approaches for value-added econometric analysis that differentiate SNG services.

Experiences and skills:

  • Masters degree in economics
  • Solid experience in econometric analysis
  • Strong experience in statistical analysis principles and techniques
  • Experience in economic development issues
  • Quick idea generation, ability to come up with ideas at a drop of a hat
  • Highly creative with the ability to develop new concepts and carry them through into practical applications
  • Independent thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Microsoft Excel expert
  • Highly self-motivated and well organized
  • Ability to communicate concepts and analyses effectively to all levels of econometric knowledge
  • An eye for detail

Business development sales: Europe

Since 1998, we have been focusing our attention on the measurement of the economic impacts of from the deployments of broadband (high-speed Internet) networks in Canada, the United-States and Australia. Our consulting services are designed to accelerate both the deployment of critical broadband infrastructure and its use by local businesses and industry.

As Strategic Networks Group extends our services across Europe, we are looking for senior business development consultants to assist in identifying, developing, and closing project opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in direct collaboration with other SNG consultants to develop sales opportunities for SNG’s services in assigned regions
  • Formulate and present a business development plan for the target region and strategies for local channel partners and developing key clients
  • Find and develop contacts, partnerships, contract opportunities
  • Respond to opportunities and develop proposals for SNG services for targeted contract opportunities
  • Track regional market trends, ensuring these trends are reflected in strategies implemented and solutions offered

Experience and skills:

  • 5+ years experience in broadband (high-speed Internet) networks for communities and regions, IT business development and B2B services
  • Consistent record of successfully selling and/or developing solutions and programs, building sales partnerships, and creating business relationships at all business levels and with public authorities
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, including presentations and sales and marketing materials
  • Proven ability to make efficient contacts and to follow through to sale
  • Motivated self-starter working independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team across the globe
  • Demonstrated ability to create effective and timely plans and meet deadlines
  • Bilingual fluency in English and local language is essential.
  • Strong background in broadband networks, e-business solutions, and economic development is an asset
